As we are all consistent and principled people, I expect us to aim our pitchforks accordingly.

Fritz's assistants did the same to Sumrall.

Florida is G5 level

I don’t think a upper level sec team would actually want Tulane recruits, that doesn’t seem like a recipe to beat LK at LSU or bama

No,no. You misunderstand. He is simply rewarding those who showed loyalty to him while he was at Tulane by providing them with a bigger opportunity on a grander stage. It’s really quite touching and selfless. He should be commended.

Napier did the same to us. Took our two best offensive players with him, and a couple on defense.

But Ole Miss totally should have let Lane hang around Oxford for another month...

No one cares when G5 coaches taking a new job does the same thing. Because like Joker in TDK said

I'm fine with Ole Miss doing what they did. As long as it doesn't become a game where one side has to be wrong. Ole Miss upended how coaching searches have worked. Maybe it was due to be upended. But we've been screaming and crying and begging for mercy because of what Lane might have done, when you have coaches literally doing that and there's not a peep.

I said the same thing yesterday. He said he took his name out of the search at Florida a week ago but it’s ok he lied?!?! To his potential playoff team?!?! The horror!!

We are taking any recruits or players we want. You will have to deal with it

That it up with the national media. But for the most part nobody blames LSU for this. Replace LSU with Bama, Texas, etc and the story would be the same. Media is attacking Lane, not LSU.

All I can say is, if he thinks he can compete at Florida with kids who intended to go to Tulane, Florida has made a terrible terrible mistake.

Napier brought too many low level assistants. Never hired a big splash.

Is there a link? Tulane is allowing Sumrall to continue coaching through the season/post-season.

Have to believe there is not an agreement there.

I think it’s wrong for the media to be attacking Lane. I think it's unreasonable to say he should not have considered another job for next year, particularly if it was by all accounts his dream job. So what should he have done differently? If he didn't fight to coach his Ole Miss team, it'd be even worse.

If Ole Miss let him stay, there was a risk that he'd be doing what Sumrall is doing, but Ole Miss would have their entire coaching staff in place. Ole Miss told him to get out, and so he had to start working for his new employer. It just feels like people want someone to blame when this is a situation where both sides acted pretty reasonably, even though I personally don’t think Ole Miss made the right call.

It’s a business, why is everyone shocked? The national media would have you believe that all these kids do this for the school and their love of the game…it’s all about money and opportunity. This is why in the business world you sign non-competes and when leaders leave they usually try to bring their top performers with them.
