they were promoting Golding anyway, why didn’t they let Kiffin coach thru the playoffs? It’s not like they were in a time crunch. They may never get an opportunity like this again.

Like a poster on here hypothesized, I wouldn't be surprised if Kiffin and Golding schemed up Golding using his sudden leverage to stay on as OC to hold the team together and coach the playoffs or leave with Kiffin, and the AD bit out of desperation.

Honestly if Keith Carter would have stayed loyal to Lane and not forced his hand "sign this extension or you're out".. I dont see Lane leaving.
