I heard the audio, sounded like they broke the news to the room and Lane certainly didn’t go in after that. Was there another meeting earlier?

What a bunch of colossal pussies that admin team looks like.

You want to be spiteful and not let him do you the favor of coaching your team in your one shot at a title, ok.

But acting like this is UT all over again and he left after a year with no effort to build anything is just lame, man. Dude gave your sorry arse program 6 seasons despite interest from teams every year and he finally decided it was time for a change. And he still made it a condition that he allowed to finish the season but they turn him down and act like victims.

Enjoy your home playoff game Rebs, going to be a while before you get another one

Doesn’t sound like it. That was a Bs petty thing to do. They’ll pay for it when those guys talk to Lane on the phone and bolt for the boot as well!

Notre Dame was told the same thing when Brian Kelly was poached...

OM's leadership has clearly been petty, mad bitches about this whole thing, but it somehow worked and the national narrative is that Lane left in the middle of the night or something. Ridiculous

Dude up and left them during a historic run for a rival and interconference team...how did you want them to act

Sources says he made the decision last night and told any coach to get on the plane with him or they wouldnt be invited to coach at LSU...

Let's level set. We both know the truth: OM's team is not good enough to win a natty. They will likely get first-rounded. Yes, it will be the best team in their program's history. It would not rank as a top 5 team in LSU's history.

How else was he supposed to handle it? The calendar does not allow for a team like LSU to wait. Are they just required to hire someone who has nothing to do with the playoffs?

We both know this was just leverage to get the team to let him coach in the playoffs.

Were they?

Regardless Ole Miss and Notre Dame not exactly working with the same resources are they?

And ND actually did let him address the team. Shows that they likely knew they’d be ok, while OM definitely does not exhibit the same level of confidence. Telling.

He was in his office packing up. Chancellor and AD addressed team and wouldn’t let him go

Lane also said this was a lie. Those same sources also said Kiffin was the only coach who was leaving, which is also untrue. At least 4 others are coming.

I’d take everything those “sources” are putting out with more than a grain of salt.

Maybe, maybe not. But they are in the playoffs. How is Brian Kelly's team doing the last 2 years with getting into the playoffs? You poached him and celebrated as well....Now paying him $54m

Yes, it will be the best team in their program's history. It would not rank as a top 5 team in LSU's history.

Okay, Vandy is having the best year in history as well. I think Lea is 10x the coach of Kiffin. He did so much more with less....

How else was he supposed to handle it?

Wait until the end of the season of his contract and coach the players before leaving them for a rival...then decide....

For the Greastest coach in history except Saban...why wouldn't they wait. What is another 2 months to still land the coach of the future that will lead LSU to 6 playoffs?!?!

So continued to be a douche until the bitter end...of a team that gave him the opportunity to move up...wow. classy guy

LSU told him he could coach the playoffs.

You want them to miss the transfer portal too though? That would have been dumb.

He decided to leave his players for a rival school. You want that school to let him take another 6 weeks to poach players to LSU? You want him to recruit for LSU while letting Ole Miss get no recruiting done? You want them to let Kiffin have 5 weeks of LSU commercial every time they talk about Ole Miss during the playoffs....

Kiffin knew what he was doing and they players know he left them high and drive like the selfish prick hes been for 25 years of coaching. Water is wet. Players know

You want Ole Miss to miss having someone recruit for them in the portal instead of the rival school Clown world. Honk Honk

No.
That's one reason talks broke down last night. Ole Miss sh*t the bed handling this. Lane took the best of his O-staff in response. His interview with Marty was surprisingly conciliatory toward Keith Carter.

Pretty messed up IMO.
Not letting him coach I understand.

This was just petty.
