OM AD should be (have been) focused on securing Kiffins replacement and a clean transition.

What have they been doing / thinking the last few weeks?

OM is self sabotaging in epic fashion.

Saban and Kirk Herbstreit both said let Lane coach through the playoffs.

Ole Miss isn't thinking about their players and putting them first.

They’re too worried about making Lane look as shitty as possible

They are. And instead of stepping back and making a clean break with kiffin, they’re melting down and telling everyone to leave if they’re going to go.

It’s crazy.

Why do you think they haven’t? This was always going to happen. It’s the ncaa’s fault

Cutting off your nose to spite your face seems appropriate here.

Yeah and I bet they will end up having to promote Golding or something like that. Good enough for them. To hell with Ole Miss.

You would be naive to think Keith Carter has not been doing exactly that the past month

He is one of the best ADs in this conference, I’d expect their replacement to be announced pretty shortly after this Lane thing separates offish

Just no way Ole Miss could do that. Should have been upfront about it - “We want you here but if you choose to leave, you will not coach this team in the playoffs”

Ole Miss quite literally had a once in a century opportunity to win a national championship

Nothing. They genuinely believed they had ascended beyond LSU because we’re in a “new age” of CFB and Kiffin would stay because “this is where he matured” and “his family loves Oxford”.

Idiots.

Why / How is KC a great AD? He’s not doing himself any favors this week.

No

The coaches had the option for the portal to close in April. They voted for it it to close in January instead because they wanted to have players in the Spring

They caused this with their vote. Not the NCAA

quote:

In January 2025, FBS coaches voted to support a single, 10-day transfer portal window from Jan. 2 to Jan. 12 for the 2025-26 academic year, though this recommendation now faces review by the NCAA Oversight Committee and Division I Council for final approval. If approved, this would eliminate the current December and April windows, and a subsequent recommendation from the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee has been made to potentially change this window to Jan. 2-11.

Before this it was fine. Hence why DeBoer to bama was smooth

They should hire Kelly to get back at LSU at about say, $10 mil per year.

Lane needs NO help in doing that all by himself.

I don’t know anything about him, but the evidence as of right now suggest otherwise. He has lost the chance to hire Golesh and (apparently Sumrall). Maybe he pulls a rabbit out of hat in the next 2 or 3 day, but it’s not looking good on Nov 30 at 10:45am.

Those two guys would never choose ole Miss over Auburn/Florida.

Ole Miss is not swimming in the same waters, doesn’t mean the leg work hasn’t been done for a replacement
