This seems like an unprecedented situation all things considered. They were at their peak, really starting to play consistently good football. And now it’s being ripped from them and they’ll be bottom dwellers again. At least OM didn’t do the stupid arse cowbells. Oh well, they’ll manage! This is going to be really exciting for us!

You’re right. We’ll raid their players and coaches and it could end up happening to us one day. But we live in the moment, and this is a good one!

LSU will have to get the secret service to protect Lane when they play in Oxford next year.

I don't know how anyone looks at Kiffin's history and thinks it won't happen to LSU. Can you imagine if we were on the verge of a playoff run and Kiffin left? This website would implode. Kiffin wants to be in the NFL and he's going to do this to LSU. Best case scenario is he follows the template of his mentor Pete Carroll and wins a national championship here and then goes to the NFL.

It will happen to us in 2 years when Texas comes after Kiffin. They won’t feel bad for us.

Exactly! Instead of going after who they believe is the best candidate, LSU should have gone after a coach who was 1) already available 2) had no bowl game aspirations this season and 3) vetted and approved by fans of the school to ensure feelings won’t be hurt.

LSU gambled on CBK with a contract that ended up biting LSU in the end, regardless of performance. Why should the players be the only ones to take advantage of the NIL model of playing for the highest bidder?

This is just one more in an unbroken line of quintessential WAOM moments.

Valpo in the NCAA Tournament.

They always say or do the wrong thing at the most inopportune time.

I’d normally say yes, but with how fluid CFB is nowadays, I don’t really feel bad. Players are one year mercenaries to the highest bidder. There’s no 4 year seniors who spent their time at one college anymore. Coaches are expected to win big in 2-3 years now with the portal, or they’re out. Everyone moves around year to year. I don’t like it but it is what it is.

I would have felt worse for them had they made the sec championship. That is based on record and tiebreakers, and something ole miss has never been able to win. The CFP field is picked by 13 asshats sitting in a room and half the field shouldn’t even be in there. Idc about him not coaching the playoffs. Don’t think that team will reach the natty with or without him.

Everything is subjective, but yes. I believe Texas is a much better job than LSU and it ain’t even close.
