All Signs Point to LSU

All of you chicken littles need to relax. Aside from Lane and his dog’s strange twitter behavior (which is admittedly aggravating), all signs point to LSU.
- Kiffin looks up to and respects Saban. And we all know that Saban still has a soft spot for LSU. We all know about Lane’s relationship with Coach O, and he saw him when a national championship here.
- There were rumors before we hired BK that Kiffin’s team and reached out to LSU about the opening back then. He was also even part of the coaching staff package that Coach O pitched to LSU. He has had our program on his radar for a long time.
- Kiffin has spoken highly of LSU and its resources many times before. He saw the magic of Death Valley at night firsthand last year. And he seemed to go out of his way to troll BK when he was here (jealous that loser was running this program?).
- Our TD sources have been a little erratic, which is to be expected. These things are fluid and in many cases we’re relying on third hand information. However, the general consensus that can be gleaned from all the posts combined has been consistent: he’s coming to LSU. Some of the specifics and timing may be off, but everything appears to be on track with what has been discussed. For example, Florida was the smokescreen this cycle. Woodward would be out. Layla buying a house. Knox going to UHigh. Coach O coming back, etc., etc.— all of that seems accurate so far. 24/7 and On3 insiders generally agree with TD’s.
- 9 out of 10 Ole Miss people are frustrated and think he’s leaving. They aren’t pounding their chests and saying he ain’t leaving. They’re obviously nervous.
- The only “complicating” factor is the success that Ole Miss has had this year. Kiffin obviously loves his team and players, which is a great thing. He wants to do as right by them as he can. It’s not his fault the schedule is so stupid. And importantly, all of these deadlines and timelines have not come from either Lane or LSU. These are fan imposed deadlines because we’re impatient. Lane hasn’t gone back on his word to anyone. The only thing definitive we’ve seen from a party of consequence was Ole Miss saying a decision was coming today. They did not say this morning at 9am or 11:30am or 2:30pm- just today.
The bottom line is there has been nothing legitimate saying he’s staying at Ole Miss other than the fans’ emotions. Have a little patience and Geaux Tigers.

He wants to watch the Iron Bowl with his family so he can root for his favorite team.

What is being delayed? The fans’ fabricated deadline? No legitimate deadline from any party has been delayed. If we get past today, that’s a different story.

because he is meeting with the Ole Miss AD this afternoon at some point. There was never going to be an announcement before that.

LSU’s AD literally said they would wait on their guy.

Ole miss was always a stepping stone for him but making playoffs and maybe an seccg makes the timing complicated.

Exactly. Only the grown men in here acting like junior high girls are panicking because it hasn’t happened on their desired timeline

There was also a tweet from yesterday in which Kiffin said he would reach out to Nick Saban and Pete Carroll for advice. It has been previously posted that Nick has already advised Kiffin.

All signs point to Lanes plan the whole time was to buy time this past week and let all scenarios play out and make a decision based on how it all unfolds. If state would have beat him yesterday, we’d already know he was coming. Now he’s waiting on the Iron Bowl result. If OM sneaks in to Atlanta, common sense tells you that he’ll remain at Ole Miss unless the Bama job opens up.

Who said there was a delay? There’s no official time that was announced. I imagine there are contract obligations that have to be addressed before any official announcement.

Of course there are. It’s not like he can just blast out a tweet saying he’s gone on a whim
