I think there’s a reason why the cold feet post are coming out this morning from LSU supporters

Oh well- it was fun while it lasted

I want a coach who’s excited about coming to LSU not hesitant

I guess everyone’s going to give pause to such life-changing decisions

It’s big. It’s a big job. It’s a lot of money. It’s a lot of responsibility. A lot of people are impacted by this decision.

At the end of the day, he has had about a month to think it over

If he’s worried about what other people think versus what he wants to do, I don’t know. Doesn’t sound good.

I’m fine with it if he stays. The zero trust relationship between him and Ole Miss would be fun to watch. He will constantly be squirming to get out while no bigger suitors give him the time of day anymore. He will waste away in Oxford, winning nothing of note for the next decade.

Hurry. Place your bet.

quote:

Lane Kiffin is the betting favorite to be LSU's next coach, with odds ranging from -200 to -235, indicating a strong probability. Other candidates with notable odds include Eli Drinkwitz, Joe Brady, Jon Sumrall, and Nick Saban, though their chances vary depending on the source.

ETA:

Lane Kiffin's next job is most likely the LSU Tigers position, as he is the betting favorite with odds around -175 to -200.
He is also a strong contender for the Florida Gators job, where he is the second favorite at +200 in some reports, while Ole Miss is considered a distant third.

Emotional locker room speech on ESPN; how can he leave his boys after a victory like this?

Lane was born for this moment. He’s been practicing that speech in the mirror all week.

Agreed. We will get a good coach. Not really worried about it. I hated the BK hire and am glad we are making a change.

There’s nothing left to squeeze. The same is out of the hourglass. He’s staying.

I don’t buy this for a second.

“Hey guys, last game coaching you. Let’s win so yall have a chance to advance. I’ll be watching from Baton Rouge!”

Dude is a troll. He would go into the final Saturday and the headline would be him staying at Ole Miss. If announced last week, no one would care.

If they win today? The only way they don’t beat Moo St. is if they don’t show up. That has nothing to do with his decision. I honestly believe that he wants to Coach them through the playoffs, which I can certainly understand, but he can’t expect teams that are throwing 100 million dollars at him to sit back and wait while everyone else is recruiting and preparing for next year.

If he likes “big audiences” that much, then where does he have the potential for the bigger audience, in the “long term?” Ole Miss, or LSU? It isn’t like the act of a head coach of an already big brand school leaving for what appears to be an even bigger stage in LSU is an alien concept……we saw one leave Notre Dame for LSU pretty recently. In other words, it certainly isn’t crazy to say LSU presents a “bigger” opportunity for an ever-ambitious head ball coach. And I believe it’s fair to say Kiffen fits that description.
