Woman arrested after throwing a gun off Cross Lake Bridge and posting the footage online
Shreveport police said lake patrol officers were sent out after being alerted to the video
A man named Bryce Nachtwey, from Battle Magnets/Outdoors Weekly, contacted police
Police said Nachtwey and his crew drove 13 hours from Florida to Louisiana to help search for the gun
Using tactical magnet fishing, they were able to recover the gun from the lake
Police identified the woman in the video as Alexis Mullone
Investigators also learned the gun had been stolen from Fort Worth, Texas

How many guns you think those guys would find if they magnet fished off the Rigolets?

Unless that gun killed 50 people this seems like a huge waste of time

It’s not a small bridge.

Just curious, any of you Shreveporters know about how deep the water is where they found the gun?

Cross Lake is not a deep lake... I am not certain but I think the deepest channel is about 27 feet deep... Most of the lake is 12 to 18 feet deep...

Magnet fishing on the Hooch from Ball Sluice to Paces Ferry on all the bridges in between (Powers, InSt N, 285, Roswell, etc) Were an absolute gold mine.
Also 200x more trash than anything cool. But the cool finds made it worth it.
I lost my heavy duty magnets on an old metal dingy boat it found we tried to get out but the current was too strong so I cut the lines and called it a sunset on that hobby. Was pretty fun though.

This is what some dudes found in 2020 in Athens from a bridge over the Oconee River.

They used a magnet that was tossed off of a bridge to find a gun?
That’s how your title reads.

Especially moving water with heavy clay and silica silt.

Not dissimilar from what we found on the Hooch just OTP
Also, side topic you may be interested in, man, the Cook & Brother arsenal in Athens…the stuff that came out of that river bank as recent as 15-20 years ago. Woah Buddy.

Ak47 could be under that water for a year.... retrieve it, slap a magazine in it, would work just fine

That's why so many armies use AKs. In case they drown for a year and return - their gun will still work

I don’t think you will find guns by throwing magnets off bridges.
