Everyone missed on Dak as a qb. We wanted him as a TE. That's why he ended up at Miss.

No major program offered him at QB. And he was terrible until his senior year

DFak had two D1 offers; LSU was one of them. LSU wanted him at tight end.

It wasn't a miss by Miles; it was a miss by everyone.

Not really but Thanks Capt 20/20 hindsight

Why because he “missed” on a 3* who was a good college player and eventually a 4th round pick? Seems like Miles wasn’t the only one who “missed”

OTOH maybe it wasn’t a “miss” by anyone and he developed into a good college player working with Dan Mullen in his system and later by the Cowboys who have developed good QBs

Yeah, my phrasing was bad. I basically meant what you said, you just said it much clearer

No he wasn't. We were an NFL pipeline while he was here. Sure he missed on some.

But supposing Dak came here as a QB, how much would that have mattered in '14 and '15?

Les was already in his pound-n-punt mode and I doubt Dak was gonna change that.

I thought this was going to be about Dak missing a receiver.

Dak isn’t the qb he is propped up to be. If he were a white guy he wouldn’t be in the league.

Dak stinks and so do the Cowboys. They have been irrelevant since 1995

If you think about saying a lower ranked player was a miss is basically saying players are simply born as what they become and coaching and development don’t matter it’s just a matter of finding them. Even good players can develop, Paul Skenes was great but became better pitcher leaving LSU than we he got there. Even in the pros we’ve seen guys that were busts where they were drafted like Mayfield and Darnold become good players in better systems with better coaching. Dak became good in Mullen’s offense he wouldn’t have been the same at LSU even if he played QB

Miles was definitely not awful. If Saban stays with the Dolphins, LSU probably has 3 more Natties than we do now.

This is one of the most moronic things I have ever seen on TD - and there have been a bunch, so that's quite an accomplishment.

quite the revionist. Not only did NOBODY want him as QB other than Miss St, once he did show promise as a senior in high school, Miles offered him as a QB prospect, but he remained loyal to Miss St.

One final thing on that subject. No way in HELL, is Dak the QB he is, if Les Miles gets his hands on him. Dan Mullen had been a QB guru at that point. He was the best at taking raw and athletic QBs, and turning them into respectable dual threats.

If he takes a chance on Drew Brees as his QB instead of the lump he chose, he does stay with Miami. They alternate being in and winning Super Bowls instead of a steady diet of New England. Alabama doesn’t go on its 2009 to 2023 run. LSU becomes the dominant team in the league, wins several national championships, and Les Miles gets elected to the senate.
