The US being the ship.
Nations that want mass immigration policies, let them form their own governments and rule themselves. And good luck with everything.
Let the states that have brains amend the constitution so that illegal immigrants can not destroy our country once again.

The answer to your question is dependent upon how hard folks are willing to fight for it.
Our first defense is our ability to vote. We can change things, our votes still mattter. Trumps victory is proof.
The second option will certainly take shape, but it will destroy this nation.
Our future depends on us, one way or another.

I have no issue with legal immigration.
They need to be able to prove they can support themselves and have no medical issues.
