When I was single, I would. You could stack some money.

My father was a plant baw. He worked shift work and often took overtime to help the bottom line. However he never seemed to miss a ball game in my youth.

Been Plant baw pretty much my whole life (shift work included) and I tried my best to be there when my kids were younger. Coached a few baseball teams and tried to make as many baseball and soccer games as I could. There were days when I got very little sleep but I would not have changed a thing. Now that I am older I enjoy all the time off and of course the money. My kids are all grown and tell some great stories of my coaching days that I don't even remember(probably sleep walking ) I missed holidays and sporting events but did the best I could but still was there as a dad. Never forget family and remember what is important and you will be fine. OT is not everything too.

I recall Christmas morning, my dad coming off a dog shift bringing biscuits they baked at the plant. Not sure how he managed the spleep schedule but he did.

I have been at my plant 25 years and I am thankful my plant has always been shutdown on Christmas morning. I do believe its the only holiday they shutdown all lines for.

I do the exact same thing! I’m only 11 years in though and kid has about 5 years left of sports.

Except soccer. Soccer is for the gays
