1966 Mustang that’s been given the guts of a 2024 self driving Tesla

TESLA GUTS, MUSTANG BODY: THE EV FRANKENSTEIN LIVES

A guy in Sacramento stuffed a 2024 Tesla drivetrain into a dying 1966 Mustang and gave it Full Self-Driving.

The hand-crank windows stayed, but now it has heated seats, AC, and Autopilot.

It charges at Tesla stations and pulls 194 miles of range, with the gas cap now hiding a charging port.

The whole thing cost $40K and 2 years of elbow grease.

For anyone torn between a V8 fantasy and Tesla tech - he found the loophole.

I have a used model 3. It's fast as absolute frick. Put this Tesla-Stang up against any other stock 66 and it will fry it.

Not sure about all this gayness, but I’m all in for a great resto-mod.

I gave you an upvote to offset the down vote. I too had a 66 w/ the straight six. 3sp. It was a good driving car.

Its a free country for now so if that is what he wants who am I to tell him what to do with his money.

But....its criminal to do that to a Classic American Legend.

It’s hard to single this car out when restomods are gaining more popularity every day. The auctions are full of them.
I would object if this was a rare, highly optioned low production vehicle. There were over 600 thousand 1966 Mustangs produced and this one doesn’t exactly fit in the rare catagory. There are still a boat load of them around.

Mine was a sprint 200 without the side ornamentation. That little engine was fantastic

Cool build. Not my cup of tea but I can appreciate the hard work it took.
