They say it isn't because he's leaving, it's because of "how" he's going about it.

I will cede that his family going to Gainesville and Baton Rouge was obviously immature behavior, however plenty of Rebels were fine with it when they thought he was just trolling.

Other than that, the drama has been caused by the media and "message board insiders".

The timeline is what it is, Florida and LSU aren't going to wait around so he has to leave after the final regular season game, as pretty much all coaches who are changing jobs do.

So are they really just pissed that he's leaving and there's nothing he can do to make this better, other than to stay?

I’d be pissed too if warm chicken tenders are too wild for a tailgate

Same reason we were upset, when Saban left for the nfl. Same reason we were upset, when Saban took the Alabama job.

If you don’t understand why they’d be mad about this then you’re choosing not to.

He’s free to do whatever he wants but this is yearly for him and them. He gets a raise every year and this year in particular they’re probably going to the playoff and he’s doing this but in the worst way.

Kiffin made Ole Miss better than they’ve been but he also probably owes them some bit of loyalty for dealing with this every year, giving him raises every year, and doing everything he’s asked of them.

It’s a pretty normal response.

I get being pissed that he's leaving, many of them insist it isn't that though.

Really? They are on the verge of a SEC title game appearance (something they have never done) and a spot in the CFP (same) and the coach that led them there is more than likely leaving mid run to go coach one of their in conference rivals. Why wouldn’t they be pissed about that?

How would you have felt if there was a strong possibility Saban was going to leave LSU for Ole Miss right before the NCG vs. OU?

Or if Joe Burrow sat out the CFP because Alabama offered him more for next season (I know...his eligibility was done, but for sake of argument) and he didn't want to get injured and risk the pay day?

Again, I absolutely understand being pissed over him leaving.

They say they aren't mad that he's leaving though, it's because of "how" he's doing it or something.

Because he's leaving them in limbo. If he needs to make a decision immediately to move on and get ready for the portal and shite, then he should do so, so Ole Miss can do the same.

How fricked up will this CFP be in that we could potentially have two teams in the bracket without their head coach? Ole Miss...and potentially Tulane if Ole Miss has to go after their coach.

Something's seriously wrong with the college football landscape right now.

No more fricked than the teams with dozens of players with nothing to play for that will sit out of the bowl games while they shop the portal.

They feel it hinders them in a search for a new coach, when in reality, the admin know his intentions and have already started their process if in fact he is leaving.

A handful of posters on message boards or a blogger may be saying this. I’d be willing to bet anything that 99% of those angry are just pissed he’s leaving their playoff bound team for another sec school which is totally normal.

I’m not from Ole Miss and I can answer that.

You finally have a playoff team, and it turns out the coach is not a team player. While their opportunity likely won’t be squandered, their ability to put their best foot forward is because it’s not all about championships with Kiffin. He would rather use all the hard work of his team as a stepping stone for himself instead of finishing the job he is paid handsomely to perform. All he can think about is what is best for him - not for the team he built himself.

And whoever lands him is going to have to find this out the hard way.

He's always said he's waiting until the end of the season to make a decision though. That's when most decisions have historically been made.

If they're pissed he's leaving just say so. Don't pretend he did Ole Miss any dirtier than his possible replacement may do Tulane though.

Nope. People were pissed. Then the bowl game against Iowa only made it worse.

It's as if Saban had left LSU directly for Bama. That's how they feel. I had no problem with Saban going to the pros. Saban has already said in an interview that his biggest Professional regret was leaving LSU for Miami.
