The hatred that Ole Miss fans feel for LSU is intrinsic and holistic

This all stems from the fact that General Sherman was president of LSU before he burned down Atlanta.
I learned this when I moved to Oxford to go to pharmacy school. They were still fighting the war in the early 2000s.
Lane going to LSU is their worst nightmare. Let’s savor every moment of this!

What ever the outcome, this will be great for the rivalry

Best part if he stays..
He will flame out of the playoff, lose his mercenaries, and regret it forever.

Baton Rouge is also a very democrat city

There's plenty of Ole Miss fans that will be relieved once he's gone.
I think the level of hate depends on what happens after Saturday. I would imagine he and Sexton/CAA immediately launch a PR campaign crying about Ole Miss not letting him coach the playoffs and trying to paint them as the bad guy in all of this, so Lane can attempt to save face abandoning a playoff team.

I literally never knew the shite about Sherman. He should have burned that piece of shite university to the ground.

Good luck with that! The most unlikeable agent and coach in college football start a whisper campaign! Lmao delusional.

I didn’t know if this to be a reason, but having lived in N Mississippi and Memphis, these people hate south Louisiana with the fire of a thousand suns

I love it. Ole miss can eat shite lol

Ole Miss fans truly believe they have a higher moral compass than every single LSU fan. The problem is, they’re not.
You can put as many Zaxby’s chicken tenders on a chafing dish under your chandelier as you’d like, but that doesn’t make you morally superior than someone. Just because you put your mimosas in a waterfall, doesn’t make you better.
If Lane ends up in Baton Rouge, this is going to stoke some flames that haven’t been seen in 25 years. Lane’s return to Oxford next year will make James Meredith’s stepping on campus seem like a picnic.

If he comes here... that game in Oxford will require the national guard. You just thought it was bad when he went back to Knoxville.

If they lose to State, miss the CFP and he leaves for LSU, they’ll burn his house down.

That's a couple big words for the Coaching Changes board. Are you sure you're in the right spot??????

They can't keep getting away with this

These a holes call people from the coast of Mississippi, coast trash. It’s really because the have style and flavor like South Louisianans
Posted on 11/25/25 at 3:17 pm to Gnarler
That is because those people are coast trash

This entire situation just keeps reminding Ole miss of who they are. Lane knows they're a bunch of poor cultists and he wants out so badly that he is moving to BR.
