Ole Miss and LSU spending the same amount of NIL money isn't really "the same"....

LSU being a national brand can attract better players from across the U.S.

Ole Miss isn't a national brand and Oxford isn't exactly a hotspot for young athletes.

LSU will use their money to shop at a better marketplace - Think Fresh Market.

Ole Miss will use their money to shop at - Think Piggly Wiggly

Perspective and comparitive opportunities, simply aren't the same.

This kind of self-soothing and coping is why a lot of you need to get off the computer.

The main difference is that LSU has done a better job than most universities at learning how to structure NIL so that it passes the clearinghouse this year. The amount of money has to be there, but you also have to have the companies and opportunities for the player(s) to create the value needed to pay them the right amount of money. I know LSU has been working on this for a couple years. I am not sure if Ole Miss has.

The amount of money doesn't matter if you can't get it to the player you are trying to give it to.

NIL is just one part of the equation.

You cannot consistently build through transfer portal.

A healthy recruiting base goes a long way to build a culture, camaraderie, and depth.

Mississippi does not have the same fertile grounds as LSU.

Regions still exist and the transfer portal should be used to help replenish a depleted roster and fill needs, not to be a one stop shop.

Eventually Ole Miss will miss on the portal and have a bad team. They may rebound the next year but you put the right guy at LSU and they have the potential to be 10+ wins every single year just like Ohio State, Bama, and Georgia

I can shop at the fanciest and most expensive grocery store in the planet but if I don’t know how to cook it won’t matter.

We aren’t trying to find a new restaurant manager, we’re looking for a chef.

It's more of a tiebreaker - more often than not kids will chase the most $$$. I will say about the brand tho - it will help you land Kiffin. Kiffin is more interested in being an online celebrity than being a functional adult. He and his family desire to be the Kardashians of college football.

LSU 2026 = Keeping Up With the Kiff-dashians

Didn’t we bring Austin Thomas back because Ole Miss had a better NIL apparatus?

Aren’t we trying to get their coach because - amongst other things - he grabbed a couple bargain type transfers in Chambliss and their RB and they’re looking like stars?

I know last year didn’t turn out how they wanted with their big money roster, but it looks like they’re doing something right in that area.

No, your response to an obvious troll shows you need to get off the computer.

Either post something true, something to make others laugh, or don't post anything. I've been on TD since September 2003, I've seen it all, and laugh at most of it.
