Is 1999 the last year major Louisiana sports were in this state of collective shambles? LSU was 3-8 under Dinardo. Ditka had Saints at 3-13. Pelicans were weren’t with us yet (but still tanking over in Charlotte).

This year we’re really hitting the trifecta with piss poor performances of the Saints Pelicans and LSU.

But music and movies and a lot of other things were so much better then.

And could still cry over 25-cent oysters at Chimes until the mid-2000s

Pretty sure 1999 was the first year of super regionals and LSU lost theirs to Bama on the road.

1999 might’ve been a bad year for Louisiana sports fans, but at least we were introduced to SpongeBob that year.

But we DO have CKM and CJJ. Spring will be fun! of course spring was fun in 99 too!

Louisiana Tech was 8-3 in 1999 with the legendary Tim Rattay including a win over SEC Champ Alabama at Legion Field. And yes, you guessed it. We didn’t go to a bowl. Not even invited.

1999 was my SR year at LSU. Those Lou Tepper defenses definitely sucked

LSU won a baseball title I could give a frick about the Pelicans and the Saints. The Saints don’t even care about the Saints or hiring or firing anyone to help them be successful in the management department so why should I care about them.

If my memory serves me correctly, Baseball and Gymnastics did pretty well. I could be wrong though

The 1999-00 school year was pretty damn good good at LSU, despite LSU football going 3-8.

The 1st Jabari Smith funk dunk was against Grambling in 1999.
