Charles Foehner, 67, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal weapons possession Thursday in a deal to end his case more than two years after he fatally shot would-be thief Cody Gonzalez, who charged at him near his Kew Gardens home.

The Queens District Attorney’s Office chose not to prosecute Foehner, a retired doorman, for Gonzalez’s killing after he told cops that he’d defended himself from a mugger who lunged at him late at night holding what looked like a knife — but which turned out to be a pen. But prosecutors slapped Foehner with a slew of weapons raps for the unlicensed handgun and for an arsenal of illicit handguns, revolvers and rifles inside his home in the quiet neighborhood.

Anarchotyranny is where the mugger will be released lots of times before you stop him, and then you face prison time for snuffing out that threat to civilized society

Who feeds us this stuff on social media is what we should be asking.

Sensationalist headlines with bare facts designed only to enrage you and keep you mad at “them,” whoever “them” is…

They are so backwards.

I'd like to know what those pussies consider an arsenal.

I love this line...

The senior will spend four years in prison as part of a plea deal. His attorney, Thomas Kenniff, said further charges would not have been hard to prove, and his client would have faced a sentence of up to 25 years for those.

Kenniff rightfully called his client a "hero," stating New York's "draconian" laws make it very difficult for law-abiding citizens like Foehner to get gun permits.

"Them" would be those that don't charge you for defending yourself... but throw charges at you for how you did it.

Yes, I'm mad at "them".

If that 67 year old didn't have his weapon, he would be dead and none of us would ever have heard about it.

Obviously NYC thinks you have no right to protect yourself from violent criminals if you’re white.

What’s with that last blurb?

The subtle advocacy of violating his 2nd Amendment rights. It's meant to subconsciously evoke in the reader's mind the question of "why does he need guns in such a quiet neighborhood," which then leads to questioning if he's some sort of danger to those living around him.

No telling how many innocent lives that old man saved by doing what our government should be doing but don’t. He should be celebrated and made into a martyr and hero. At least that would give him something in jail.

You can damn well bet that those who prosecuted him are not vulnerable to the sociopathic thugs who curse the good folk in their peaceful communities. At some point the pendulum will swing hard back and it will be vigilante justice that defends civility and functional society. Leftist government has abandoned that cause for the (Satanic?) DEI delusion.

“Behold, I will send them great delusion that they will believe a lie”. Seeing is believing for them that “have eyes that see”.

Strap in.

Do you read that article and believe we should be more concerned that a reporter wrote a factual story than about what the prosecutor chose to do to a man defending himself?

I sincerely hope you live in a blue city located in a blue state.

Even you don't believe your own post.

It is mind melting why anyone would ignore the obvious miscarriage of justice to make such overtly trolling posts. I'll never understand this mindset.

This is the left's dream future under gun control. They won't send jackboots to people's homes to confiscate. They'll just pop people off one by one when they try to defend themselves from emboldened criminals, even ones that invade their homes.

You read this story, and your first thought is we need more control on how informed American citizens are? It is a NY Post article about a guy being jailed for exercising his 2nd amendment rights. No part of the story is sensationalized.

The guy's choices were to defend himself and go to jail, or not defend himself and possibly die.

The mugger had 15 prior arrests but was still walking free. So while the city is refusing to keep violent criminals behind bars, they are also restricting innocent Americans from their ability to defend themself from these criminals. And now they choose to be tough on crime against the guy who was forced into this situation because of the city's failures.

This is Democrat governance in its purest form.

Only an anti-American coward sees the 67yo with guns being the bad guy here.

Id respond by saying the same thing John Adams did about our system of government when they enacted it: that mentality only works with like minded people operating with Christian values even if they aren’t in fact Christian.
