Yep, in fact, it may have been signed tonight. Monday at the latest though.

Per bountyhunter:

quote:

He'll be able to sign the LSU contract shortly. They're working on a deal to kill some of the money he owes for leaving early in exchange for finishing the regular season. Once that's done he'll be free to sign the contract with LSU. Effective hire date will be Saturday 29th, contract signed by Sunday (23rd). LSU has given him until the end of the weekend to sign the contract before they move on.

His current contract would be nullified, a new one signed for the duration of the new contract (in this case, about 1 week). That frees him up to sign the contract with LSU. This is how it was explained to me.

When the information starts leaking Sunday I'll share some other details, crazy stuff.

No, what's been rumored is that he's going to sign the contract by Monday.

I'll believe it when I see it though

Not necessarily true but multiple of our “insiders” who have been correct so far believe the paperwork will be signed tomorrow and that yesterdays meeting for OM had to deal with contract stuff to make it possible for him to sign this LSU contract. He wants to coach the egg bowl and they would of had to fire him and pay him lots of money because he didn’t break any contract clauses.

If he signs anything with LSU that changes. I just don’t see it.

Latest rumor is that Lane will coach LSU against Oklahoma, becoming the first coach to defeat the Sooners twice on their home field in one season.

MOU’s are meaningless. They are not legally binding. Just saying “cool, this is what you offered me, thanks”.

MOU is not really a thing. You understand those are not legally binding?

That would be the quickest a major coach contract has been approved by attorneys in the last 30 years. Attorneys can’t get enough billable hours in the last week for that shite to happen. I want to believe but very unlikely.

I’m pre sure he meant MOU. Yes, contracts like this can take months to hammer out.

Note to the geninuses:

You really think he will coach Ole Miss in an actual football game while not under contract with Ole Miss, but under contract with LSU.

I'm going to take a wild guess that you have never worked in HR before. It may be college football, but employer-employee relationship rules till apply.

Try again. Thanks for playing.
