Coming to town January 22-25. Hoping to not get killed. Staying at the Roosevelt Hotel. Have reservations at Peche on the 22nd and at GW Finns on the 24th. Will likely visit the WW2 museum. Looking for other ideas for meals and things to do.Any recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Meals after 2 nights of seafood would be Doris Metropolitan or Desi Vegas.

Doris in Houston is my favorite steakhouse, and has been for a decade. It proved sous vide is real. The Israeli spin on apps, etc., is refreshing from the usual sides and apps.

The original Doe’s is my favorite steak place but Doris is a very close second.

The WW2 museum takes at least one full day if it's a first visit. I think they offer a two-day or return-the-next-day ticket for less than two separate tickets.

For lunch, it is a short 2-block walk to Cochon and Cochon Butcher.

Last time I was at the museum, I hit Cochon just as it opened at 11:00 and had gumbo, fried boudin balls, and (one of my favorite dishes anywhere) Wood Fired Oysters with Garlic Chile Butter.

There are other options besides “fish” and “steakhouse”.

There are tons of great restaurants that aren’t similar to Peche or Fins for the other nights

What would you suggest? Both are foodies and open to any suggestions.

If they're open that deep into Mardi Gras Season, Mardi Gras World. Great tour and king cake provided.

In addition to Peche and Fins (go to those two)...

In that area, you have:

Cochon
Herbsaint
Compere Lapin
Mamou

If you want to venture further out

Brigsten's
Coquette
Lillette
Saba
Le Petite Grocery
Paladar 511
Saffron

In to the Civil War? right across the street (Camp) from the WW2 Museum is the New Orleans Confederate Museum. Confederate Memorial Hall. In my opinion its the best Confederate Museum.

NO was unique in that is was captured somewhat early and all her sons were fighting in the east or west and couldnt come home. There are pieces there from the largest collections in NO.

They also do battle flag restoration to preserve unit colors there.

Get some southern culture then hit Pat Os and put down 4 Hurricanes.
