I thought the greens were in great shape but everything else was horrible. Cement fairways

I’ve had a lot of good rounds go to shite on that course.

F that long par 3 with the water on three sides.

I just couldn’t get over how bad of shape the fairways were

Pretty standard. Greens are fantastic. Everything else is arse, aside from the layout itself.

Pretty much standard. They could shorten that course by 500 yards to make it more fun but it's unnecessary difficult for that it costs compared to what you get in return.

At one time (20+ years ago) it was very nice but the lack of decent public golf in St Tammany keep it open. For my money, before I joined private it was more worth it to me to pass it and head to Mississippi or just play Royal rather than playing there.

Was it windy? Always seemed to be blowing 20+ when I played in high school.

Everytime I play out there I have the same experience as you. Greens are nice but the fairways look like they’re undergoing a renovation.

It’s so weird they can’t maintain fairways but can maintain greens.

I know the greens are paspalum, they went with that because of the high salt content of their irrigation water. Fairways may rely on Mother Nature or shite water.

I enjoy playing Oak Harbor. It's a good test of golf. If you can shoot around par there from 6900 with all the wind and water, you can do it at most places. I definitely play my ball up there though lol.
