He's built a winning program thru NIL at Ole Miss and about to enter the CFP with a home game advantage. Talent will be beating on his door to play at Ole Miss. His son Knox is a starting sophomore QB at Oxford High School and already has 8 college offers. Lane's not going to force his son to uproot and start over with another high school.

Lane is doing what he does best: yanking everyone's chain and building leverage for the strongest offer extension with Ole Miss.

One caveat is that he might consider leaving if Ole Miss tries to force his hand with an ultimatum, offers a weak offer, and it doesn't give him the optics of winning.

There is a 33.3% chance he stays.
There is a 33.3% chance he goes to LSU.
There is a 33.3% chance he goes to Florida.

Nobody knows anymore

Why isn’t it now? His incoming recruiting class is ranked 20th. LSU is at 12 with no coach.

I'm an LSU Tiger through and through but, outside of more money, I don't see what going to LSU and starting over gives him that he doesn't already have.

That’s what I think, too. Landry in all white at Bengal Belles yesterday was the over-the-top troll tell for me. That was not a coincidence.

Also, I'm doing everyone a favor by balancing the positivity. You need pessimism to give the optimistic take it's best chance.

He sees easier recruiting and higher upside for LSU than Ole Miss in the long run. The potential to build a dynasty at LSU like Nick did at Bama.
