With the BK situation (job opening) not being procedurally complete, no announcements about a new hire will take place. Because technically there is not an open position at the moment. It may be Lane, or it may be someone else. But nothing can be announced until everything is wrapped up with the job opening in an official/legal manner.

That's now how it will work. The news won't break that Kiffin has signed a contract to become LSU's head coach but they can certainly offer, negotiate and agree. That's what would break and it's not tied in anyway to the status of the BK firing or buyout.
