Caddo saddle over oak transition and trail. Hot and mosquito city. Had a good 8 in here last week haven’t seen him in a while. Hope he’s still alive. Never know if you don’t go……

Saw a buck right at shooting light couldn’t tell if he was something I wanted to shoot or not. Haven’t killed a deer since the 22-23 season. Thought about just sending one anyway but my conscience got the better of me.
ETA: Mosquitos F ing suck!

Area four had a good one at the stand I didn’t go to at daylight. That’s the 4th missed opportunity so far. These 50/50 odds have got to even out at some point

Morning hunt in Area 2, Ouachita Parish.
Mathews V3x and SEVR 2.0 hybrids.
It was muggy, and the mosquitoes were thick. This boy made it worth it though. 23 yard shot and he died about 60 yards from the shot site. He ran about 150-200 yards but circled back. Blood trail was excellent.
Well, I never used to have trouble posting pics. I’ll figure it out.

He was slightly quartering to me and about to walk off so I put it right shoulder with the exit aimed at lower belly. Ended up getting both lungs. I was roughly 25’ up.
