Does Lane really believe this/his team can actually win the NC this year?

If he does then I can see him staying at OM to make a run at it. If he thinks his team can't and is not as talented as an OSU, A&M, Indiana, or Georgia then i think he goes to LSU or FL.

Outside of South Carolina, Citadel, and Tulane they barely won the rest of their games.

You guys must not have played competitive sports your whole lives. No fricking way that's his mindset. And no fricking way would I want him as my coach, if that's the case.
Ole Miss would only be a double digit underdog to Ohio State. That's it.
If course he fricking thinks they can win it all. What a silly thread

They definitely can and they might. I think they’ll get to the semis at least. I really think they’ll get to the championship game.

I think he believes they have a puncher’s shot like most of the other teams. They would have to be on their A game to get Ohio St or UGA.

Not believing that an 11-1 SEC team that pushed Georgia to the brink can compete is crazy.

They don’t have the defense to win it. This isn’t 2019 lsu

Lane is a pragmatic guy. He knows that if he stays at Ole Miss he will never win anything, hell that place raises banners for fake conference titles.

He knows a dynasty awaits him at LSU.

He’s only loss was on the road to Georgia and they were leading by nine going into the fourth quarter

They actually looked their best against the best 2 teams on the slate (UGA choke, OU win)

But they have had about as easy an SEC schedule as it gets...and their biggest margin of victory was 2 possessions (USC 3 weeks ago)

#2 L
#6 W
#10 W
#11 W
#12 W
#13 TBD
#15 W
#16 W

They also only beat Wazzu by 3 at home. Wazzu does not have a P4 victory this season

They've definitely gotten better as the season has gone on and can hang with anyone, but if you power rank the 5 SEC teams looking at a bid (A&M, UGA, OM, OU, Bama), they're realistically #4 or #5

No. He's considering leaving because either situation would be better LONG TERM. and he has to weigh that opportunity VS the chance at having a run at a title this year.
To sit there and think a coach like him believes has no shot at it is incredibly dumb. Can't believe we're having this conversation

Yeah I feel like they can play up or down to anyone. Just like they could’ve easily lost 3 more games, they could’ve easily beat Georgia if a couple plays went differently.

You saying this dude doesn’t believe in his 10-1 team you do not know ball and were probably never part of sports growing up. If he doesn’t believe it there’s no point in coaching

Him believing in his team and being realistic about his team are two different things. I bet summerall at Tulane believes his team could win it all too, but he also knows the reality of it
