How Should Have Trump Responded When a Reporter Questioned MBS About the Murder?

The CIA found unequivocally that the Crown Prince ordered the execution of a journalist. Was it the right thing for President Trump to say that MBS had nothing to do with the murder? (Personally, I'm on the fence.)

I'm with you on that. In this particular case, however, it seemed cut and dry.
I just thought it was a tough position for the President. I think he handled it well by saying "you shouldn't embarass our guest like that." The adding of "this gentleman knew nothing about" goes against everything I have read about it...but maybe necessary for diplomacy.

I'm not sticking up for the CIA. I thought it was common knowledge through other sources that MSB had him killed.

What if POTUS Trump had replied "Are you, in the very least, grateful reporters in the Oval Office are not treated accordingly"?
Give them something to make their heads explode while He and MBS conduct business between countries.

Y'all are so weirdly touchy. It happened in Turkey (in the Saudi consulate though) in 2018.
It was Trump's CIA that concluded MSB ordered the execution.
I just thought it put the President in a tough spot. He had to call HIS CIA liars. As I said it was probably the right call from a diplomatic position.
