Toyota CEO comes out as MAGA

CEO of Toyota (Akio Toyoda) at a NASCAR event in Japan right after announcing a major investment into production capacity in the US.
This is the man who also drove in the Toyota sponsored team 2007 24 Hours Nurburgring race without the actual company knowing at the time. He brought the world Gazoo Racing and secretly did high speed driver testing for the Lexus LFA without the then CEO, Shoichiro Toyoda (his father) knowing. The GR products wouldn’t exist today without this guy. And he’s MAGA.
I know Mark Reuss, President of GM, set speed records in the Corvette C8. But Ford CEO Jim Farley and GM CEO Mary Barra would never do anything badass like secretly conduct high speed road tests or wear a MAGA hat.
So Trump supporters….why aren’t you driving a Toyota or Tesla?

Toyota these days is more American than the big 3.

Thats great. Maybe they can get back to building reliable vehicles again. The new Tundras, Sequoias and Tacomas are crap compared to previous generations.

They moved to San Antonio in 2017. Not a shock. Japanese are not impressed by liars, they like clear communication (the intent comes across with Trump, even if supporters are sometimes WTFing.) I got asked election night in 2016 how I felt about the election result while I was sitting in the office in Tokyo. Understanding Japanese culture, I took a few beats and said, "Most Americans do not trust people that do not speak their intentions," or something to that effect. The Japanese in the room did the contemplative nod, and I didn't get sent back to the US for pissing anyone off.

2005 Tundra. Simple as they come. V8, 118K miles, not 1 drop of a leak from any fluid, still like new.
All driver hand controls from that Tundra match exactly with 2018 Highlander.
