Someone explain to me the allure of Disney

If you have kids between 6 and 12 or so I get it.
Outside of that, for the life of me I can’t understand spending thousands to go to central Florida or Anaheim to see a park designed for children. You can take that money and go to a real place.

The appeal is for families and kids. It loses its appeal when the kids no longer see the magic everywhere, BUT when they do see it everywhere and you get to see those smiles on their faces, it is worth every penny.

For the price I’d much rather take my kids skiing, an outdoors resort or go to europe.

What an original take

Yay...this thread again.
We all agree, Disney adults are weird and cringe, but live and let live, and you do you.

But your kids wouldn't rather that

Honestly my kids liked it more before age 6. We had Florida resident passes and they were great when they were cheap about a decade ago. Had it down to a science with the fast passes.
Now it’s insanely overpriced and complete bullshite with the reservation system.

Yea that typically happens around the age they realize snow white is actually a man with a mustache and a heavy speech impediment.

sure i’m not saying arrest them, i’m honestly curious at why, for example, you would go to Epcot to see a fake London when for not all that much more you can go see the real thing.

Disney World/Land is not for me, personally (outside of a couple of trips with my kids when they were little). But I would imagine the allure for adults is it allows you to feel the happiness you had as a kid for a little while.
The older I get, the less judgmental I become. While something may not be alluring to me, as long as you aren't hurting anyone else, do what makes you happy...even if I think it is weird.

Is it really that much worse than obsessing over who coaches your team of NIL mercenaries?

It’s an amazing vacation if you have kids. At one time it was a fun getaway for couple wanting to have a good time in a place that felt sheltered from the outside world.
Now the ratio of “Disney adults” and influencers to people with kids is over the top and Disney has focused less on customer experience and more on efficiency and profit. Couple that with their delving into politics and it’s just not the same experience as it used to be.

I had a next door neighbor couple that got married there... it was weird.

Disney is nostalgic for a lot of people, and they want to share those memories with their children
Personally, I love Universal because they have better rides
