The Kinks are better. Nothing against The Who.

I think you could make the case. Certainly among the early British Invasion wave.

There were a lot of good ones though: The Animals, The Kinks, The Hollies, etc.

We just going to forget about CCR?
Or Santana for that matter?

The Who are arguably #3, but there have been some valid alternatives proposed. Santana is not one of them - not even top 20

Santana was very popular in the day and got a lot of AM radio airplay at the time It seemed like much more than The Who to me.
I also should have thrown The Doors out there. They got more airplay than The Who.

IMO, the Who are the greatest ROCK band of all time and Who’s Next is the greatest rock album of all time.

I love The Beatles.
I love The Stones.
Neither could match The Who for live performances.

The Who made The Stones delay releasing their Rock-n-Roll Circus film for about 40 years because of this performance.

Watch for Brian Jones at the end — he knew.

Kafka you gotta be 90 years old with your old fogey music tastes. The Kinks? Really?

I do like that Superman song though. Lots of folks don’t like it but I do.
