True.
Seems like investors wouldn't be hard to find.

The DOE has financed energy loans for the past 20 years

Is it really that big of price to see a real nuclear meltdown on the east coast

If that is true I will be against it.

I want transparency on this. We need more nuclear energy but payback for doing so.

I would think that Microsoft could come up with the loan.

The 3 mile island partial meltdown was handled very well. The media obviously didn’t portray it that way. One of the reactors was still operating until 2019.

Do you know how many people died?
Zero.

lawd a mercy i knew co-pilot sucked but damn, you need a nuclear reactor to power it now?
Posted on 11/19/25 at 7:47 pm to TrueTiger
Yes and the most exposure the general public had was equivalent to a chest X-ray.

A bargain compared to Solyndra really, nuclear is far more reliable.

Good to see nuclear energy coming back.

Trump DOE gives Microsoft partner $1B loan to restart Three Mile Island reactor
Good. Maybe this will help Microsoft to finally start making some money and then turn a profit. I know they've been struggling.

They’ll be restarting Unit 1 reactor, the one that operated until 2019.
Unit 2 (the one that partially melted down in 1979) will not be used. It’s been fully decommissioned cleaned up and is basically just a shell that is monitored

Govt handouts and stacking tax credits. The American energy way.

Doubtful. DOE has a solid track record or performance across the loan program office portfolios. Even with noteworthy failures like Solyndra they’ve always over performed on returns and specifically defaults. Fun fact, anyone with a ford ecoboost can thank the doe lpo for it.

quote:Yeah, Microsoft has huge government contracts. I was working with them as a technology partner on development of the IVAS Next Generation Warfighter Helmet with Anduril Industries. That contract is huge, potentially $100+ billion. They can afford the loan to their partner.
I would think that Microsoft could come up with the loan.

The meltdown I’m referring to is the democrats on the east coast having it back again
