I keep seeing that he can't win a NC at Ole Miss, but based on the bracket as of now they have a very real shot at making it

They will not win. He has a high probability of leaving.

The most recent bracket has Ole Miss playing Texas A&M in the second round (should they get that far) and I have a difficult time believing Ole Miss will beat the Aggies.

Anything is possible but Miami beating OM is probably more likely than OM beating Aggie.
By some miracle they make it to finals, Ohio state will beat them to a pulp.

Congrats to OM on having a great year and taking advantage of a relatively weak sec schedule but I do not think there a legit title contender.

I think they would be underdogs in everyone of those games, but sure!

I would like to see aTm play Texas first before I would agree.

While aTm passes the eye test of being one of the best in the SEC, they have objectively played the weakest SEC schedule of anyone. Based on current standings, they did/do not play #2, #3, #4, #6, #7, #9 in the SEC. They play almost the entire bottom half of the SEC except Texas which is next weekend. They caught lightning in a bottle by having a really good team and getting an easy arse schedule.

If OM had to play A&M, Bama, or Vandy. They would have 2, 3 or 4 losses.
They actually have a very unrealistic shot. OKLA is their best win. They are not getting past the top 4. They barely beat LSU, ARK , Wash St. and KY. They look more lucky than good. And now they are dealing with a coach that is still building a resume and is taking a look at two major programs that don't play in a HS stadium. Even his family is taking a look at getting out of a tiny backwoods town buried in a state that doesn't even seem to have 1 respectable city with running water.

Are we looking at the same bracket? I'm not sure they would even beat Miami. A&M is strong.

They did get a favorable schedule, but they did beat ND.

A realistic chance to win a national championship in football?

They do not. And never will.

That’s not how this works.

College head coaching is a very transactional relationship; lawyers, boards, agents, etc.

These coaches have agents that literally tell them where to go. Yes ultimately the coach says yes or no, but it’s literally the agents job to find the best deal for there client.

Even if LK comes to LSU, remember… agents are always looking for the next deal.

They are lucky if their first game is vs Miami, weakest team in top 12.

FWIW most of OM quality wins were pretty close, single possession victories.
