Nobody Wants This - Netflix Rom-Com w. Kristen Bell & Adam Brody

Searched but didn't see any recent posts.
Just started this the other night and I'm just a few episodes in but this is so much better than I was expecting. Just never watched it because the trailer wasn't that great but it has a very good Two Weeks Notice, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Crazy Stupid Love feel. It's been a long time since I've seen a good rom-com so it was kind of refreshing.
The brother is hilarious. Episode one I thought he was going to be pretty unfunny but about five episodes in and almost everything he says makes me laugh. When Noah found out Rebecca was in a car crash and said "Omg did she run into the truck because of me?" Sasha: "No, O god no. I mean you're cute, but you're not I'm going to leave this earth because of you cute."
Morgan (Connors fiancé in Succession) is a smoke show in this as well.
Anybody else watch? I'm only 5 episodes in so no finale or season two spoilers please.
Also, every time I see Adam Brody I think of the early 2000's skateboard comedy Grind. Probably one of three people that have seen that movie but god I loved it when I was younger.

I've watched both seasons. I have enjoyed it and thought it was funny. The only thing that bothers me is that Brody's character seems a super orthodox Jew when it's convenient and a super progressive jew when it's convenient. I just think there would be more of a conflict when it comes to premarital sex and such things. Admittedly, I am not an expert on being Jewish, but his brand of Judaism seems a little inconsistent.

Best character on the show.
We're 5 episodes into season 2 right now.

This is a great show! The siblings are hilarious. I started watching it because a lot of it is shot around my neighborhood. Got hooked pretty fast.

I gave it a shot... pretty funny. Definitely kept watching for Sasha's character, he's hilarious.
The Jewish mom is way too over the top, though... maybe that's accurate, I don't really know any strict Jewish mothers, but it doesn't seem like it.

O yea I'm not at all thinking this is much of what any type of actual Rabbi is
Not a fan of the mom at all.

I'm only 4-5 episodes in and she is the absolute worst. t's only going to get worse as the show goes on I'm sure. Always liked the actor that plays the dad though.

The brother and smokeshow sister need to bang already.

I like the show.
Season 1 is much better than 2.
I think the new show runners fricked up the tone to a more bitter edge rather than sweet, and retread over the same ground.
And I was very much disliking Kristen Bell’s character in s2 at times.
Still like it though. Sasha is the man, Esther doesn’t deserve him at all.

What in the world, wonder why they switched show runners. Seems odd to do that after a successful S1. It was near the top of Netflix's most watched for quite a while. Kind of surprising to hear that.

Sasha excitedly asking her "You f'd Adam Lavine?" had me dying.

I really does, I need to rewatch it because it's been years. Could probably still quote the whole movie though.
Dumb comedy but when they finally make it to the skate competition at the end it's one of my favorite endings to a comedy ever. Seeing Red by Unwritten Law is playing as they are walking up with their boards. Kind of a badass scene

Got one episode left in S1 and they are just starting to flirt some and she's had a sex dream about him.
If they do hook up I hope it's because his wife did something that splits them up. She is pretty annoying but she's not that bad around him/bad enough for him to cheat on her.
The basketball episode cracked me up. The girls are drinking every time there's a missed shot and Noah takes the final shot that could win the game and he misses. The girls go wild screaming and Sasha asks Noah "Did that go in?"

Based on a lot of Jewish people I know, that's fairly accurate. And on the pre-marital sex stuff...maybe he's a California Jew.

But he isn't just a Jew, he is a Rabbi. He even said in one of the episodes that the words of God are "VERY important to him" setting himself apart as a deep believer. He is almost willing to call off the relationship if she does not convert. So, just jumping into bed with no conflict of conscience seems inconsistent to me. But at the end of the day it's a romcom and not a deep drama about religious conscience.
