The only thing that bothers me is that Brody's character seems a super orthodox Jew when it's convenient and a super progressive jew when it's convenient. I just think there would be more of a conflict when it comes to premarital sex and such things.
i do agree that he seems like he's super strict on everything except pre-marital sex.
Ben Shapiro is a California Jew and while i disagree with him on plenty, believes in abstinence till marriage and is against homosexuality.
Whereas Seth's Rogan judaism in S2 seems more in line with what I think of "barely practicing" Jews.

If they do hook up I hope it's because his wife did something that splits them up. She is pretty annoying but she's not that bad around him/bad enough for him to cheat on her.

honestly there is nobody in the show that deserves him except his brother.
i'm never rooting for people to divorce because of moral reasons, but he deserves better than his wife.
i did like the second season fine, but part of the magic of this show was them falling in love and sorting through things. It's a show where we didn't really need a second season (looking at you Big Little Lies) and I would have just called it a great one shot with the end of season one. It didn't ruin my memory of the series like BLL did though.
One thing missing in the season to me was the soundtrack. First season had me shazamming songs the entire time. I don't remember a single song from S2.
not to gay up a thread about a romantic comedy series, but I thought this was great one.

yea, at some point we can't run back the same schtick for season 3. S1 and S2 had the same damn ending.

Soundtrack was definitely solid.
Two episodes in to S2 and a little bit of the S1 magic is gone. Not as many LOL moments so far.
Read an article on the new showrunners and they were like "We really wanted to develop Ester. Like what is Esters story?" Read that and new the season probably wouldn't be as good. But still enjoying it for sure.
Was kind of on Joanne's side of the dinner argument where she thought she wasn't needing to convert and he said that she was still going to eventually. The S1 finale was literally him chasing her down saying "I choose you.' AKA I choose you over the position as head rabbi that wouldn't allow me to marry/be with a non Jew.

What in the world, wonder why they switched show runners. Seems odd to do that after a successful S1. It was near the top of Netflix's most watched for quite a while. Kind of surprising to hear that.
Apparently season 1 filming and production was a mess. Actors did not like the sloppiness of it, scripts were being undelivered, changed at the last minute. Constant interruptions and just all over the place.
It turned out great and became a hit so they hired show runners with experience to get things more streamlined.
The tone was off imo
