Cooked a beef roast, mashed potatoes, onion gravy, green peas and had crab salad. About the best that I could do for a Tuesday! :)

Glad you liked it, not fancy, family owned and just country cooking. :)

Boudin and smoked sausage from Jerry Lee's, which wasn't very good, so I scrapped it and had a couple pieces of sourdough toast with mayhaw jelly.

As an aside - first time having Jerry Lee's boudin. Had heard many times it was the best in Baton Rouge. Don't know if I just got a bad batch or what, but it was some of the worst boudin I've ever had. Rice to meat ratio was way off (too much rice), it was dry and the rice was undercooked and crunchy. Inedible.

The Whataburger near us opened. First time having their food.

Got a triple. First time, go all out.

It was typical decent, fast food burger.

it used to be Annette’s which I think moved across town. I remembered why we’d never been to Jeanie’s when we got there today…it’s only open M/F 7am-2p and I was never in Hammond at those times until we retired

hooked?
we joke about that place all the time…
I would love for someone to buy it and reopen it, so many possibilities. It could be an awesome taco stand or BBQ joint

It was the same for me. Didn’t start going there until after I retired.
