It is plainly obvious kiffin is not coming to LSU. His wife is a Florida alumni, no state tax in Florida , it just adds up it’s Florida. I just hope the Tigers don’t miss out on a great football coach in John sumrall. He would bring toughness back to lsu on both sides of the ball. Dude can recruit with the best of them as well. I get the kiffin thing with the offense but sumrall is the smart choice in my opinion. Geaux tigers always!!!

Coaches don't matter as much in recruiting anymore.

It's GMs and Benjamin Franklin.

A lot of people here don't like that he is the Tulane coach.

They feel it's embarrassing to hire a school from a smaller in state school.

That is the vibe I get.

Why not Napier? He has ties to the state too.

That’s actually a thing, unfortunately. Old guard not wanting to swallow pride and “hire from little brother”

We’ve already Veto’d him.

We don’t want a linebacker as HC in 2025

Because he was losing 31-6 at halftime vs UTSA with all eyes on him

Spoke with a Tulane Booster this morning and they think he is all but gone to Auburn.

I still want us to at least make Brady tell us no.

Several reasons he’s a plausible fit:

1. He’s been here. I can’t imagine anyone WANTING to live on the shores of Lake Erie in the winter. And he could come back and get some solid HC experience.

2. He makes $1.8 million as OC of the Bills. We could easily triple or even quadruple that and still come out way ahead.

3. He’s worked successfully with Josh Allen and Joe Burrow. High quality QBs (HS and portal) would be lining up to come here. I know he doesn’t like recruiting, but that’s really the biggest knock on him. He can let the staff handle that.

Got drilled by UTSA. Give me Napier or Mullen before him.

I had one opportunity to watch his team and was in no way impressed.

And when he wasn't working with the greatest college football qb of all time or a future hall of fame quarterback, how did he fare?

Maybe he's been good because he's attached himself to actual generational talents.

So what?

He’s got the Allen and Burrow skins on the wall. Talented QBs will see that and want to play for him.

I think he’s at least worth a 5-year deal at the aforementioned rates.

Because this board has convinced itself that Lane Kiffin of all people is the only sure fire candidate.

What do you mean so what? He has had a stop without a generational talent at the most important position on the field and failed miserably.

IN CAROLINA.

Man, that’s a set up for failure. Some of the palookas they’ve had in Charlotte, there isn’t an OC alive could make chicken salad out of that chickenshit.

You do understand that there is no PERFECT candidate, right?

Why would anyone consider “no state tax” as a deciding factor to move somewhere?

Sounds idiotic to me

Probably not a primary consideration for most.

But they do sell it. And it is one less thing to deal with.
