ESPN article

quote:

However, sources told ESPN on Tuesday that Ole Miss officials are pressing Kiffin and his agent, Jimmy Sexton, for a resolution. Athletic director Keith Carter has asked for Kiffin to reach a decision by this upcoming weekend, sources said. The sources stopped short of calling it an ultimatum, but they added that Carter and others want an answer so they can prepare for the postseason, a potential coaching transition before the CFP and a search to identify Kiffin's replacement if he leaves.

While Lane did masterful job keeping everyone guessing his intentions, either OM or Sexton continuing to leak OM’s unease at situation.

Article also Says sources have confirmed to ESPN that Ole Miss has made it clear to Kiffin they will match any offer by Florida or LSU

This very well could be Sexton getting the best possible offer to take back for Ole Miss to match.

OM wants this out there - Lane pressed their hand by sending his brood on a jet to BR and Gainesville.

I think OM could too…on head coach pay. But, difference could be overall resources like salaries for staff, NIL, etc.

I’m convinced that Ole Miss is the one who brought attention to his ex wife’s trips to Gville and Red Stick. Trying to make him look bad for trying to feed his family. Shame on them.

That’s easy then, $100mm/yr, enjoy your coach Ole Miss.

Plus if they’re paying Kiffin 15+ mil a year how are they going to build that stadium and those facilities up? Big time catching up to do there for them

If he stays at Ole Piss it's loyalty or money, he will never build a dynasty with their resources.

This. LSU by far has presented the highest NIL budget for roster and also the largest assistant coach budget

Ole Miss currently has the highest paid OC/DC in CFB.

Their NIL machine is well documented - they bought a top tier roster last year to make a run at the Natty.

Kiffin has said money won't be the decider. OM is going to match just to eliminate that talking point coming from Sexton and his circle, but ultimately this is about where Lane feels like he can win and how that organization plans to support him.

Someone’s going to end up getting shafted big time which is kinda LK’s thing on leaving to take another job

LSU better have a massive buyout set up if he were to leave LSU

Why would Ole Miss leak this? This is Lane’s agent trying to get the best deal for his client
