Yes, they are saying biden couldn't release due to the appeal process. I guess I'm just confused because I keep hearing people say that Biden could release files.

A problem is that we keep talking about a singular thing - the "files" or "the tapes" when it's probably a host of different files/evidence batches held by various entities/agencies and controlled by all sorts of statutes/orders/so forth.

At some point, probably most loudly during the middle of Biden's term, MAGA begins to demand release of the Epstein Files and campaigning on it. Maxwell was convicted in 2021. It seems likely there would have been material that could be released or that the Biden administration could have responded to the MAGA overtures with some amount of public information sharing if it had interest in doing so. It had none, and made no meaningful effort to do anything on the Epstein front.

Your cousin may be right as to materials directly involved in the appeal, but that's probably 1% of the material our government has on Epstein's activities.

The reality is that Biden/the left didn't care about this saga at all. They know it implicates Democrats (Bill Richardson, Clinton, etc.), but practically, there wasn't necessarily a groundswell of demand on their side (and, at some points, on our side).

The left is just taking the low hanging fruit we gave them. We trashed them in the campaign about it, and they did nothing in response to the bait. Then Trump took office, Bondi and Trump made a show of the Epstein fiasco, it flopped, then Trump took a pretty inexplicable turn and started calling it a hoax. The Dems rallied to the cause, pretending they cared about it when they never did.

Most likely, the right knew Biden couldn't do a lot on Epstein without it being messy, and the left knew to this point that Trump's hands were at least partially tied. So it was basically just open season on the party in power.

I’m no lawyer but I feel confident if there were evidence of a crime in those files then they could have at least secured an indictment.

Yet no indictment was ever secured.

If they coulda, they woulda.


Since when have the rules or laws ever stopped them from doing whatever they want.

I was looking for th facts to counter my looney lefties family as why Biden SHOULD HAVE released the records during his adminstration if it was so damn important to the Dems.

When I said to them, why are ya'll so concerned about the release when you had 4 years to release the files. They told me he couldn't release them due to Maxwell's appeal.
