U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday called on Republicans in Congress to vote to release files related to deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a sharp reversal from previous resistance within his inner circle.

“House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide,” Trump said in a lengthy post on his Truth Social account.

“And it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat ‘Shutdown’,” he added.

Now what?

Just think, how much less infighting there would be if he had done this since day 1.

Exactly what I was going to say. Maybe he feels sorry for Bill having to be with Hillary all these years? Maybe a couple Republicans go down? It was just silly and pointless.

I don't think you can block him urging congress members to vote a certain way.

I'm glad he's changing his stance. This is what I voted for.

Trump's already said the files have been doctored, now its fine?

If Massie didnt have the votes, he wouldnt be telling them to back it.

Johnson and Trump have tried to brush it off for months. a self inflicted wound if i ever seen it

what were they thinking here

What message will Massie and MTG run with the next campaign if the files are released? Are they considered "Mavericks" like John McCain?

Maybe they will be considered "Hero's" with "integrity" like Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney? I think think they are more like Mitch McConnnel and now Rand Paul. Sometimes you have to put your pride in check and be a team player, vote for your country. See Mitch, Massie, McCain, Cheney, Kinzinger and Paul.

Oh, so MTG and Massie didn't receive money from AIPAC, that is admirable, and I get it, but Thomas Massie has more in common with those who also did not take funds for AIPAC than who did.

These congress members, senate members, and a NY mayor elect who is not on the list, did not take money from AIPAC either, would any person who loves their country and freedom considere voting for them?

Former congress members:
Jammal Bowman
Cori Bush

Current Members:
Greg Casar
Pramila Jayapal
Sumer Lee
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Ilhan Omar
Marc Pocan
Ayanna Prssley
Delia Ramirez
Bernie Sanders
Rashida Tlaib
Nydia Velazquez

He just ordered the DOJ to open investigation into some democrats.

So when congress finally passes this, the DOJ will refuse to release anything due to an ongoing investigation. He planned all of this and had johnson delay the vote just long enough to stop it due to red tape.

Maybe, Trump was using reverse psychology on the Dems. They were screaming for the release because he made them think he feared release of the files. Now they are the ones fearing their release.

This was a trap he set for them. They will realize this morning that they have been had. His statement is a signal to his allies that the trap is set and it is now time to spring it.

The new week is going to see Democrats suddenly fighting to stop the release hahahaha.

I don't understand why the DOJ needs permission from congress to release what should be public information.

Like he promised? That was a part of his campaign. He would release them. Well, fricking release them. Don’t tell me they don’t fricking exist.

Do you remember when the Trump admin made a formal request to release sealed Grand Jury evidence and testimony? That might be why.

Another reason why might be to remove the arguments that the release was "politically motivated" by getting many Dims on record as supporting the release.

He's been baiting them the entire time. The funny part has been watching the Panicans fall for it too when it's been so obvious that he was baiting them even Ray Charles could see it a mile off.

We won't forget who they are.
