Man currently has GT playoff bound at 9-1 and GT now has the #1 ranked offense in the country. Why is nobody talking about him?

He’ll get a good chance this week…and then a really good chance in two weeks.

Shine in these games, and he will likely get attention.

Why is every Heisman frontrunner touted on here as old as Methuselah?

The other thread was the Tommy Boy at UConn, still in school, not a doctor.

They would have maybe 5 wins without him…

He’s a damn good QB but he won’t have the stats to make a run unless he goes on a tear to end the season. Only 10 passing TDs through 10 games.

10 passing tds is a factor but look at his value to a top 10 team.

My thread was a joke because of the kid’s last name.

Mendoza is the favorite for the Heisman and turned 22 on October 1st.

I’d be happy if he just got invited to New York.

Throwing to wide open WRs all day does not make you the most outstanding player in the nation.

You haven’t watched a single snap of Buckeye football then this year if you think thats what he’s doing.

But hey everyone has an opinion I guess

One, he didn't play every game this season so that definitely doesn't help. Two, they lost to NC State. Three, they've beaten nobody. If GT beats UGA then he'll be in the discussion.

He would easily have another 5-7 passing TDs if his receivers could catch the ball. This week alone we had 2 dropped TDs.

King has been incredible. He has nothing to do with the RBs fumbling, WRs dropping passes and the defense being horrendous. If he beat Pitt/UGA he is probably winning the heisman

If the receivers are that wide open, maybe one of them should be the Heisman frontrunner

Haynes King was also pretty good at times his first season at GT and had more TDs passing but a lot of interceptions. He was good last season at GT when he wasn’t injured. Jimbo tried to force his offense onto him at A&M and kept getting him injured there and indecisive, but King has become the true duel threat QB that many expected of him after getting away from Jimbo. If Jimbo adapted his offense to King’s strengths he probably isn’t fired in 2023 (not that Jimbo cares with his buyout).

Just getting to double digits in passing TDs this past weekend, being at the lower end on the top 50 in total passing yards, and possibly being at GT doesn’t garner him as much attention; but he also has more rushing TDs than passing TDs and leads the team in rushing and rushing TDs.

have you even casually glanced at their schedule?

he's a really good player on a mediocre team playing one of the worst P4 schedules imagineable. Despite that tech isn' even undefeated, and is a few frog hairs away from having multiple more losses.

King is a nice little story for tech but he is nowhere in the same universe as "best player in America".

But QB’s who have 4 and 5 stars surrounding them are?

I’m not saying King is the best, but put King on Ohio St or UGA and there is zero drop off. I think the top 2 QB’s for college football are King and Stockton. I could care less about projection in the NFL. And I could care less about stats for QB’s on rosters with 5 stars.

If King had the same OLine as Sayin or Stockton he’d have 10 more TD passes. And using our one loss against him when our defense couldn’t stop a cold is silly. King had 400 yards passing, 100 yards rushing and 4 TD’s and you use that game against him.
