Love this, worth a reshare. We can fire coaches and AD, we should have the power to influence the game day experience
‘My first game was vs FSU my freshman year in 1983, I lived in North Stadium Dormitory. I used to have season tickets, but I stopped going to games when they started with the piped in music.
I want to hear these things at LSU games in Tiger Stadium:
The Golden Band From Tigerland.
The crowd.
The crunch of the LSU defense hitting the line.
The ref's whistle.
And the only thing I want to hear from the PA system is Dan Borné.
We had one of the greatest bands in all the land. Get rid of the piped in music and Make Tigerband Great Again.“

Okay well Dan Borne got old. You can still hear all those things except for the crunch of LSU’s dline

Went yesterday for the first time in a while….
I was shocked that the piped in music was that bad. The band is playing and they start pumping “whoop there it is” over the band!

Because the students try to convert every band song to STTDB.
I contend that the band should just play neck. Then the rest of the songs they play wouldn’t get overrun with piped in music.

I honestly think that one reason for the increase in piped in music in recent years is to drown out the “STTDB” chants. Since the band can’t play Neck anymore the students will chant it to just about anything that the band plays. So they have to find new ways to “censor” it.
I’ve never been a huge fan of STTDB. But I think that the hardcore efforts by the SEC office or whoever to censor it are more annoying than the actual chant. The only thing that trying to stop it will do is make them do it even more. If they had never tried to censor it we would only ever hear it during Neck, and not multiple times a game over random band songs.

It would've died out by now if they just let them do it

I get that was many people's first experience with TS, but things change. It was my initial experience as well. I'm not foolish to believe that the kids coming up now, though, would be impressed with just the LSU band/announcer experience. I would argue that the incessant pauses in play are much more detrimental to the experience than anything else.
In the end, an LSU team with something to play for against another big team at night trumps everything. The fans will take care of the rest of the experience.

As soon as the students grow up. It’s their call.

If you want tot hear the band play Neck just go to LSU at Ole Miss. The Pride of the South Band played it after they beat LSU.

Let’s face it. It’s all about game day experience. I agree, some of yesterday’s music was plain terrible. However, it adds to the experience while they have the long, and frequent commercial breaks. Overall, I think Tiger Stadium is a fantastic form of entertainment. Especially when we win. TigerBand sounded great yesterday.

It's tradition that makes college football more than simply NFL-lite. The marching band IS college football.
frick the canned music. (Even when it's music I like.)

Us old bastards and our nostalgia doesn't mean anything. Thats what young kids and recruits want so it won't change. Embrace it or watch from your couch unfortunately.

There definitely seems to be a lot more band music when I watch other games.

There were 2 rock song snippets, a bunch of country and mostly rap, with a few band songs sandwiched in between.
The music for the most part is rap. And you can't spell CRAP without R-A-P.
It's disgusting. Rap between every play over the loudspeakers is ridiculous. If that's the only reason these mercenaries come to LSU to play, I say let them go elsewhere.
And there should never be a day game in Tiger Stadium before the middle of December. Which means NEVER.

Loud fans are what made death Valley intimidating.
Now we are driving them away with garbage DJ music.
Leave that shite to the NBA in the NFL where it sounds like a Fisher-Price commercial.

Playing piped in music over the band is much worse than STTDB, I have already sent my survey in saying the same thing
Also some Karen complained about the generators being loud in lot 412 while playing Taylor Swift obnoxiously loud
