Yea man. Look how effective Massie has been

quote:

How many bills he has sponsored that became law

A recent summary of his career (updated this year) notes that no piece of legislation proposed by Thomas Massie has been passed by Congress.

An earlier quantitative look at his record from 2018 found that he had sponsored 22 bills at that point and none of them had been signed into law “on their own” (as standalone Massie bills, not counting ideas folded into larger packages).

Putting the newer and older sources together, and checking that nothing contradicts this, the best supported answer is:

Number of Massie bills (where he is the original sponsor) that have been passed into law: 0.

That doesn’t rule out him having amendments adopted into larger bills, or being a cosponsor on bills that passed, but on the specific question of bills he “brought” (sponsored) that became law, the documented answer is zero.

quote:

He was reported to vote with his party roughly ~82.2% of the time (which implies about 17.8% of votes he did not vote with his party) according to one older analysis.

Massie wants to reduce government. Creating bills that add to the size/scope of government is not what he does.

This is a "you" problem stout. Perhaps "you" are the problem for wanting bigger government.

MTG is also really popular. Seems like most of you don't understand these aren't national politicians. Unless you live in their district your opinion on them is totally irrelevant.

He is the least authentic politician out there. Whether it’s his wife or free trade, the minute it’s inconvenient for him he drops them.

Massie like all politicians are to represent their constituents from their districts that people voted to hire to represent them. Politicians don’t respect that authority given to them by their constituents but rather go on to use their positions to enrich themselves while offering up their own interests, most of them try to act as if they are the voice for their own interests country or worse the world

Then create bills and work within the system to file bills that reduce agencies and government regulations…. That would actually task him with working with his fellow republicans which he doesn’t seem to desire anymore.. he’s found iit best to simply complain and obstruct getting anything done instead of incremental movement.

You do realize he can bring or sponsor bills to reduce the Government too?

Even though it will probably not pass, at least MTG has brought forth those types of bills, including one last week to end H1Bs

Massie spends more time grandstanding than anyone and never actually puts any action behind his words. That's the issue many have with him.

You mean like his bill to abolish the Department of Education? Which he has filed multiple times since he was first elected.

“Principled conservative” is becoming the modern twist of what libertarians used to do.

It’s a nice little independent sounding niche where one can sit on a perch criticizing all others and everything around them, but never really has to ever worry about ever actually leading or being the one who is ultimately held accountable.
