You dump the list on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, or you dump it Christmas Eve.
No one would be available to talk about it or hear it as people are heading home for the holidays.
It is the same reason why some agencies time news releases for the most inoppurtune times to dump bad news in the media. That way it has to wait until the next news cycle. Although this is less of a case with the internet today.
