Roughly where in Natcitoches parish you at? I used to hunt off a gravel road off 117 south of Provençal. Man I miss that place!

My wife tells me we are out of freezer meat and need a deer. So tomorrow morning, first one that walks out is getting dropped.

The moon is getting right, so it could be a nice little weekend. Hoping to put a nice doe down quickly this first trip.

A quick evening hunt in the pasture. If it’s within 350 yards it’s going down. Buck or doe.

80° and dead calm
Got here late just enough time for the last hour of daylight
Will only shoot a big un if he comes out this afternoon. But a doe will fall later in the weekend.

I am not looking forward to this warmup over the weekend. I had some success last Saturday, but I dealt with all the bugs as I gutted and loaded up. I will probably hunt tomorrow morning and Sunday until 1-2pm, but I don't think I'm doing late afternoon Saturday with a high of 76. Nasty. And I'm stuck at an orchestra concert Sunday evening so I can't stay too late.

Awesome!

The mosquitos came out in force at 5:30. Nothing else came out. I’ll be out early tomorrow morning again. Wondering if the deer will move early since it’s not 28 degrees like Tuesday
