After seeing some clips from the 07 game against Ar-Kansas where they ran stupid against us all day long. Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis. Do believe Saban would have been more prepared for what the Hogs were bringing that day?

Also, what about the Kentucky game?

The offense was better in '07 with Crowton as OC than it would've been with Saban as HC.

Pelini's D style was pretty much the same as Nick's.

Nah Saban blows a game almost every year.

Probably would have lost one to someone

Anyone inside the program between the two will tell you you are an idiot. Much of miles success was from the discipline and culture that Saban built at lsu. As he left, then coaches left, then moved further and further from the players that were there, the more it deteriorated.

He had more talented teams at Bama that did not go undefeated so probably not, I do think he wins the title in 2006. He doesn’t lose at Auburn, not after 2004, loses at Florida but beats them in SECCG revenge game. 2007 may repeat but would depend on if players like Dorsey go pro after 06 title.

Maybe, maybe not. Saban didn’t have any undefeated seasons until well into his tenure at Bama.

And maybe a lot more than that. The biggest thing Saban would have had going for him at LSU is that he wouldn’t have had to coach against Saban at Alabama.

“not a good coach” the same coach who had already won two sec titles, a national championship, had a 6 win bama team go to the wire against the national champs and had them in the SEC championship the next year undefeated. But sure not a good coach.

If saban was coaching LSU from 05-13
They probably have a minimum of 4 NC’s and 6 SEC titles.

He's only had two ('09 and '20*). His first was in Y3 at Bama. It should be mentioned that was when Colt McCoy was injured on UTX's first possession.

And '20, so heavily asterisked I'll need Gary Danielson to celebrate it.

But he would have to coach against Birmingham.

They screwed us in 2004. We'd definitely have one or two games the refs handed to Bama.

He would have won 2or 3 nNCs if he stayed.Only a idiot (Les) loses 2 games a year with the talent NS left.

After five games head-to-head, Les was up 3-2. Their paths diverged after Les shifted to the pound-n-punt offense and Saban was willing to play more aggressively on O.

I doubt it, the road SEC schedule was brutal, Florida Auburn , Tennessee and Arkansas all ranked in the top 10 when we played, Auburn finished 8 and Florida #1. Saban is the goat, but he only had 2 undefeated teams at Alabama and 1 of those was the Covid year, he most likely loses a game that year.

ffs Saban is the GOAT but Miles was an idiot for not being better.

I dare say most coaches don’t even do as well as Miles did, 2005-2007 is the best 3 year stretch in LSU history the only people that would have done better are Saban and Meyer, maybe maybe Spurrier if we had convinced him but none of the other actual candidates discussed at that time would have done as well as Miles from 2005-2012.

Maybe. Hell he might have even won the national championship that year.

Well Saban lost 3 games the year he left, so there is that.

Saban likely would've done better than Miles. But Saban has also stated numerous times going to the NFL made him appreciate the college game more and made him a better coach. He was going to the NFL eventually or he was going to burnout.
