I dont think this would ever happen, but an ideal situation would be if It is Saban as the HC, double Kelvin Sheppards salary and have him as the DC/ head coach in waiting.

He gets to learn from the GOAT Saban for a few years, Saban retires and turns it over to Sheppard.

Will there be any money left for an OC and players?

Wait, you think Saban is coming here to be told who he has to hire as his DC? You people are insanely retarded.

Why not have Blake learn from him so we don’t have to buyout his contract and he is an up and comer that is well liked too.

That could be an option as well, but if we don't hire a HC soon, he will be gone when the season is over.

No, retard. He's saying that a fun, hypothetical, ideal scenario would be to get Nick Saban and have Nick Saban be on board for getting Kelvin Sheppard as his DC. Of course the "ideal scenario" would not include Nick Saban being forced to do anything he's not on board with.

This place needs to chill with the ‘head coach in waiting’ crap.

Not convinced this is a thing. It’s said a lot but the only example I can think of is Muschamp at Texas and we saw how that ended up.

Would be awesome, but I can’t help but roll my eyes when I see that phrase.

Was Ryan Day the HCIW? Jimbo worked for Florida State. That's all I got.

What leads you to believe that Sheppard is HC material? Bc he just made it to defensive coordinator. And he only got that spot because Glenn took the head coaching gig. And on top of that, Glenn didn’t take him along to New York. Not doubting he is a good coach, but what are some people actually thinking
