Don’t we have a sports journalist or two left in Baton Rouge who can give us a legit long-form story on what happened here? This might be the biggest LSU football catastrophe in my lifetime - from being ranked #3 with a 5th year senior QB a 6 weeks ago to the complete demolition of the football program mid season?

And, reporting from Baton Rouge media is what? No one really knows what has happened here, who to blame, and who to never let near the program again.

Baton Rouge media is a clown show but it’s not that deep of a mystery. Kelly was never that good, the offensive roster construction is poor, the offense is ancient and whoever coaches the Oline should be charged with theft.

In my opinion it looked like Woodward had all the local reporters in his back pocket. They were all standing up for him. It made lsu look bad when firing bc the local media made him look like an innocent saint. I’m not saying he’s a bad dude, but we’ll never get a unbiased truth of what all happened last few years.

All you're going to get from the media is Landry blaming. They are so butthurt LSU is changing.

This is all political.

got beat by betters teams. Some with less talent than you that were better coached and some bad luck. Its pretty simple, don’t need to be a journalist to tell you that

We're currently plummeting towards bottom third of the SEC and no end in sight.

Well, there are two things probably at play.

One is access. WW gives them access to stuff and some reporters fear having it cut off.

WW might feed them information. You're getting that scoop, inside stuff no one else gets and you don't want to jeopardize it.

Pretty sure WW got chummy with several of them. You have to keep distance between your subject and yourself as a reporter but that line is often blurred.

This is a new age of college football. Big money, big expectations and ever changing rosters make things unpredictable to say the least.
