It aint coming down anytime soon, local grocer had some NY Strip for $7.99/lb and jumped all over that since it's been a while I've had steak. Been cooking a lot of chicken and pork dishes lately

The 1.5-2" thick ribeyes I buy at Publix are always like 35 a piece

you can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a butcher's arse... no, wait. It's gotta be your bull...

sounds about right.

That's what happens when the herd dwindles down.

Thats true and those are great but this was at a smaller local grocery store their steaks aren’t as thick as the Publix ones and have never seen them over 25 dollars in there for a two pack but hadn’t bought steaks in there since probably last year.

Yep. We used to grill steaks about once a week. Not anymore.

yea was getting a little surprised at people not pricing steaks by the lb.

Costco was usually between 14-17/lb for prime ribeyes

They are now between 26-28/lb, massive increase in the last few months

Moving away from Texas will go down as my life's biggest regret.

Next time you want to fear monger grocery store prices by starting a stupid thread on it, do it using price per pound.

Calves were selling around $1,900 this fall. Last fall they were around $1,500. Beef prices won't come down for couple years.

Just imagine how high it’ll be if everyone gets a $2,000 check.
