On what day did Jacques Doucet make this post about the morality clause?

It was made on Facebook only and taken down soon after. The whole thing was odd.

From a source I trust, this is what I was told about LSU Football firing head coach Brian Kelly. The powers that be met with Kelly Sunday morning. There was no discussion about assistants. Kelly was told he was out, period. LSU was moving on without him. Kelly's buyout was negotiated down to $27 million, about half of what he was owed. This was done through the violation of morality clauses in his contract. Louisiana governor Jeff Landry met with the LSU Board of Supervisors before Kelly's firing. Landry did not invite LSU athletic director Scott Woodward to this meeting.

It doesn't matter.
Pay Kelly his money and move on. Quit being the clown show that all of college football can point and laugh at.

I wonder if that post pissed off BK.

The lawsuit is for "a declaratory judgment confirming that LSU's termination of Coach Kelly is without cause and that Coach Kelly is entitled to receive the full liquidated damages provided for in (his contract)."
So it wouldn’t surprise me if the For Cause allegations pissed him off and so he’s not only seeking to have that declared bullshite and along with it clear his name of the rumors.
The way it happened, even if he were to agree to settle for purely financial reasons the allegations would still be out there tarnishing his image.

Exactly. Pay the man what he's owed and move on. However, I'm sure a reduced buyout was sold to donors in order to get them to pony up the cash to get rid of Kelly. Now it seems LSU is screwed.

Tuesday October 28 is when I was text messaging my friends about it.

The fact that this post was deleted so quickly means it was meant as a message to BK, or it was LSU's plan behind the scenes to get a reduced buyout and it wasn't supposed to be publicized.

Or that it was inaccurate. I thought Landry met with the BoS and donors AFTER the firing. Maybe Doucet was told by others that he had bad info.

It’s been my thought that Kelly was to be fired and they wanted to reduce the buyout via the morality clause. BK was willing to take a roughly 30M lump sum payment and move on to coach somewhere else with a clean slate and everything kept in house with the public appearance that things were on the up and up.
But that story being public taints Kelly and diminishes his ability to get another job, so he in now pushing for all the money he is owed

I think this situation just keeps getting more and more muddy as the days go by. I will be glad when LSU and Louisiana never have to mention the name Brian Kelly again.

If there is no basis for morality clause after saying so, LSU will seriously tarnish their reputation pretty badly. What coach would come here with no trust. Jmo.
LSU needs to shut up, pay the man and let it die out so everyone can heal and move forward.

Absolutely. Tried to push BK out by a leak perhaps.
BK's personal life can get dragged into all of this very quickly, I still think both sides settle on an amount greater than the two offers, but less than the full thing.

it never ends.
Meanwhile behind the scenes,
"let's make up shite to cut his buyout in half and see of he takes the bait".
Not one coach in America would come if this proves to be what lsu was doing.

If they had a reason(s) to fire him with cause, then it should've happened during that time frame.
Trying to use it as way to save money because of the poor product on the field, makes LSU look like they purposely turned a blindeye to whatever contract violation their claiming... its poor optics either way.

And wait till you find out, Woodward planted this in order to muck up the disconnect as best he could.

Who knows? The man walked around pissed off. How ironic that despite his permanently sour demeanor, he looks like the "good guy" in all this mess.
