To avoid paying all or at least some of the buyout.

BK filed suit against the board of supervisors.

He didn’t accept the $30M offer so now it’s time to go scorched earth.

We would have been required to notify for cause at time of firing. Can't do it after the fact.

If you read the article, LSUs stance is that they never formally fired him yet, and are now firing for cause.

Yikes

Please LSU, keep this up. No way this clusterfrick backfires in addition to the damage already done by your governor and temporary AD, you're doing great!

Signed,

Maybe not scorched earth just yet, but definitely turning the heat up to put some pressure on. The odd thing is Kelly said he was open to settling, but his side hasn't countered either offer other than to file the lawsuit. That suggests something has happened in the past 2 weeks that's changed Kelly's sentiment. If he wanted to settle, why not counter?

Hope it goes to court and LSU gets Kelly's wife, the realtor, and the female football staffer he was sleeping with all on the witness stand and let the story unfold for everyone to see. Do you think Kelly would slam his fist on the table like he did after the Vegas loss to USC?

I’ve now completely given up hope on getting even a halfway decent coach now. Just PR blunder after PR blunder. Quite sad to witness. Complete self-sabotage.

Sumrall should probably be treated as the home run hire now. Who would want to come to this circus if they had options?

Probably down to Sumrall (pipe dream), Frank Wilson or (heaven forbid) Ed Orgeron for round 2.

LSUs stance is fricking retarded. They fired him, now trying to back track so they can fire him with cause because he wouldn't take a reduced buyout.

Everyone sees right through it.

This tells me Landry is still involved. His state ranks either dead last or close to last in every meaningful category but LSU football is the axe he chooses to grind?

To say that unstable prick has a screw loose would be an understatement.

Infidelity seems to be a growing problem with LSU coaches. The whole program is a cluster.

LSU's stance is that he wasn't formally fired because Woodward didn't have the authority, so isn't he technically still the coach?

How does that work?

And since he wasn't formally fired and LSU is now moving to fire him for cause, it requires a 7 day notice and an opportunity for BK to fight these allegations in writing. Therefore meaning BK is still the coach at LSU, since LSU informed him TODAY that they are moving to fire him for cause.

Not only a mess, but if BK wanted to be a huge dick he could technically be on the sidelines Saturday as the HC.

As an outside fan, dear god I hope it happens

You seem a little scared bro. I forgot Arkansas even had an opening. Just not a program that really sticks out in the college football landscape I suppose.

Scared of what? We gonna fire our interim coach BP?

Just enjoying someone else being a clusterfrick for once

ALL of these aren't completely screwing up their coaching search, you mean

Lets be real here. Its November. LSU will have a coach in the coming months. It will be better than whatever hire any of those three make. Arkansas will continue to go 5-7 on a good year, and the world will keep spinning.

Legitimately explain to me how this works when your ADs official stance is that they never formally fired BK because Woodward didn't have the authority, therefore its all null and void?

Is he technically still the coach? Y'all seem to be focusing on the personal attacks to avoid the actual clusterfrick of a situation unfolding, which is understandable when you have no defense of it
