He is voting for what the majority of what his constituents wanted, but not because it’s what they wanted it is what best fits his next election cycle. Do not kid yourself for a sec. If he wasn’t venerable he wouldn’t have voted that way.

Lot of money to be made and favors to collect when you can stay affiliated with one party but straddle the fence on some issues. IF you can keep your seat that is. I don’t know if he has quite the staying power in PA that Joe had in WV, but if he survives his next election cycle he’ll be fully dug in and there for as long as he wants to be I think.
