Looking back, I think Chris Hilton has been the biggest disappointment

I don't know whether to blame coaching or the player or the Nuss injury
I thought for sure he would ball out this season and he has been non-existent
I could still see him having a decent NFL career with the right team

A receiver who can’t catch and is constantly hurt isn’t having a decent NFL career.

After Van Buren got in and threw him a pass, I’ll blame Nuss for the drop off. Cause you don’t even notice Chris is on the field when Nuss is in. Technically Nuss has made everyone drop off

This was a team projected to compete for and win a national championship. Every player at every level, other than the transfer DBs, has been a disappointment.
But Nuss is the most disappointing. We were led to believe he'd be a Heisman finalist and a top three quarterback taken. He has been awful. Whether it is due to injury, inability, or complacency in the off-season doesn't matter.

Depends if you were still bought in that he would actually do something.
I can’t remember a player being given more opportunities to become “the guy” at his position over multiple seasons than Hilton.
He’s just not that guy.

I blame Hankton. This so-called talented WR group hasn't shown much improvemrnt. Davis and Hankton need to be fired.

I'm not disappointed in Hilton because I didn't expect a lot from Hilton. I never understood the high expectations for him, that he was going to be some kind of game changer for our offense. He's never shown anything liek that in all the time he's been here.

Hard to single him out.
The offense can't or won't do what he's good at. I get that he had the drop but we only focus on that because he's gotten so few targets.
He cooked an Ole Miss DB for an easy walk in TD and Nuss underthrew the ball by 10 yards.

Nuss has not been productive but he has thrown to Hilton on deep passes. Problem is Hilton is not catching the ball. He dropped the ball against SC that was perfectly placed to him. Also DBs covering would get the PI and give up 15 yards instead of the huge gain. For some reason the coaching staff never had him in games as much. I know in the Clemson game he talked back to BK when he did not line up properly and LSU had to burn a TO. That may have had something to do as well.

Okay I’ll give him a dropped pass. That’s it. I don’t even blame him for the fumble against Clemson cause that was a dumb play call to begin with
Posted on 11/10/25 at 4:53 pm to nicholastiger
He just jumped early - again.

There's not anyone outside of Trey'dez that has really lived up to their potential offensively. And he's had some ups and downs. You would have thought Hilton would have flashed once or twice by now.

He has shown you for 3 years who he is. If you had unrealistic expectations for him this year that’s on you

Chris Hilton is a speedster. We really can't protect long enough to throw a ball down field. His advantages disappear when every ball but one for the entire game was thrown less than 20 yards in the air.

You can blame him for being a one trick pony but he's a deep threat in an offense that can't throw over 10 yards.

the Nuss injury
If you keep saying it it has to be true.

He’s a deep threat and that’s really it. O-Line and Nuss’s struggles didn’t lend well to him getting many targets..

There is nothing on his track record that should have made anyone believe Nuss was a heisman level QB. He’s been woefully average any probably below average against every decent team he’s played his whole career.

Hankton has somehow been able to hide behind the other issues
His arse needs to go as well

Naw the only answer is Nuss, period!
